Every time my house makes a new noise I think, Can I Record That?

For the past 9 Years I have been exploring the world of theatrical design with sound recorder in hand. By listening to, recording, and reproducing the noises that we normally tune out, my design focuses heavily on creating low level layered soundscapes that the play’s characters may be living with. I find that its often these unnoticed pieces that bring reality back into the space, so that when we start playing with these sound spaces the new audio feels grounded and yet more theatrical at the same time.
